Interpretation

Words with an initial capital letter have meanings defined under the following conditions. These definitions apply whether the terms appear in singular or plural form.

A unique account created for you to access our Service or parts of our Service.

Refers to the Couri platform, including the mobile application and web-based tools provided by Couri Technology Ltd.

Refers to the Couri Application and platform.

Data collected automatically, either generated by your use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).

The individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service.

Collecting & Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. This may include:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name
  • Phone number
  • Address, town or city, postcode
  • Usage Data

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service. It may include information such as your device's IP address, browser type and version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.

When you access the Service via a mobile device, we may also collect information including the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, and the type of mobile Internet browser you use.

Information Collected via the Application

While using our Application, and with your prior permission, we may collect:

  • Information regarding your location
  • Pictures and other information from your device's camera and photo library

You can enable or disable access to this information at any time through your device settings.

Location Data

In addition to collecting location information while our Application is in use, we also collect location data in the background to provide enhanced functionality. This data is used to offer you services tailored to your location, to improve app functionality, and to develop new features.

Before collecting any background location information, we will request your explicit permission through a clear and transparent consent process. You may revoke this permission at any time through your device settings. Please note that opting out of background location collection may affect the functionality of certain features.

Use of Your Personal Data

Couri may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service, including monitoring the usage of our Service.
  • To manage your Account and provide access to the functionalities of the Service available to registered users.
  • For the performance of a contract, including the development, compliance, and undertaking of delivery service agreements.
  • To contact you by email, telephone, SMS, or push notifications regarding updates or communications related to the Service.
  • To manage your requests and attend to enquiries you submit to us.
  • For business transfers, such as evaluating or conducting a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets.
  • For analytics and improvement, including data analysis, identifying usage trends, and evaluating the effectiveness of our services and marketing.

You have the right to request that we delete the Personal Data we hold about you. You may update, amend, or delete your information at any time by signing into your Account and visiting the account settings section.

You may also contact us directly to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information you have provided. Please note that we may need to retain certain information where we have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.

Disclosure of Your Personal Data

Business Transactions

If Couri is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Law Enforcement

Under certain circumstances, Couri may be required to disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, such as a court or government agency.

Couri may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation
  • Protect and defend the rights or property of Couri
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service

The security of your Personal Data is important to us. We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data; however, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Right to Access

You have the right to request a copy of the Personal Data we hold about you and to check that we are processing it lawfully.

Right to Rectification

You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data we hold about you.

Right to Erasure

You have the right to request the deletion of your Personal Data where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing, subject to certain legal exceptions.

Right to Restrict Processing

You have the right to request that we suspend the processing of your Personal Data in certain circumstances, for example if you want to establish its accuracy.

Right to Data Portability

To exercise any of the above rights, please contact us using the details in Section 8. We will respond to your request within one calendar month in accordance with our obligations under the UK GDPR. In complex cases we may extend this by a further two months, in which case we will notify you.

You will not be charged a fee to access your Personal Data or to exercise any other rights. However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive, or excessive.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your Personal Data under the following lawful bases:

  • Contract — processing is necessary to perform a contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • Legitimate interests — processing is necessary for our legitimate interests, such as improving and securing our Service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation — processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation to which Couri is subject.
  • Consent — where required, we will request your explicit consent before processing your data.

Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

If we need to rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your information and your circumstances require consent from a parent or guardian, we may require that consent before we collect and use your information.
